Nitrous Oxide
You might know nitrous oxide by its common name: laughing gas. It is commonly used during dental procedures as a way to alleviate anxiety that your child may be experiencing. We will place a small mask over your child's nose. The gas is regulated as your child breathes and isn't harmful. Your child will be awake and will still be able to talk and answer questions.
Once the appointment is over and the nitrous oxide is removed, the effects will dissipate very quickly. It is likely that if your child is anxious during visits at an early age, they will no longer need the nitrous oxide as they grow older and become more comfortable with the experience.
